ABOUT ME:
Hi! Welcome to my site. Currently, I am a Master of Professional Studies candidate at Georgetown University in the Urban & Regional Planning program with an emphasis on housing, community development and economics. (Hoya Saxa!) Additionally, I am an alumnae of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (2017, Go Green!).
My time at Michigan State was spent focusing heavily on housing affordability and new ways for home-buyers to get into the game. On top of that I heavily researched sustainability and energy efficient housing solutions, and even dabbled in construction and environmental crime.
These days, I work full-time in the industry both for a residential and commercial construction company. I find it extremely important to understand both sides of our industry and the different aspects of residential vs. commercial. I specialize in customer and client relations within the residential company, a family owned business that I grew up in; and in my commercial company I am a project engineer for the estimating department. While my official title is that of project engineer, I focus on project management from the pre-construction side, handling all documentation control and drawing review prior to the estimating and operations team taking over. I am regularly on multiple projects at a time, with an average of 12 and a portfolio value of over $140 million with over 1.5 Million Square Feet.
A passion of mine in the industry is sustainability/sustainable design and net-zero buildings, my Masters degree is focused on housing affordability and understanding the implications of construction and the industry after a natural disaster occurs. In my spare time, I am the youngest ever planning commissioner for the City of Farmington Hills where I focus on understanding innovative ways to handle ordinances and zoning policy. The City of Farmington Hills is over 95% developed, which can make for some challenging projects. Additionally, I am a competitive youth swim coach at the Junior/Age Group Level (3rd - 9th grade).
